-------------------------------------------------

1. What are the minimum requirements?
You must be at least 18 years of age, have an Education of Higher School Certificate or equivalent and you must be able to study in English.

2. How can I apply for distance studies?

You can easily apply by completing the required forms. Detailed instructions on how to apply.

3. When can I apply?

Any time during the year. But allow at least 2 weeks to process your application. Once the college approves your admission, you need at least 3 months to study for June or December exams. The best time of the year to apply for admission is January for June exam, and August for December exam.

4. Who can supervise my exam?

You must have a Coptic Church in your city and a Coptic priest who is willing to sign your recommendation form to supervise your exams, and to mail the answer papers to us. The role of the priest will be only to receive the question paper, supervise your exam, and return personally the answer paper to the college.

5. Can I nominate a non-Coptic Orthodox priest?

No. It's College policy that a distance studies student be supervised by a Coptic Orthodox priest from any Coptic Church. If the applicant is a priest, then another Coptic priest in the same city must supervise him.

6. How many subjects can I enrol in at any one time?

You are allowed to enroll in up to 3 subjects in each individual session. In the first term usually we advice the student not to enroll in more than two subjects. If you do not pass any subject in the first term the college may decide to terminate your studies.

7. How much does it cost?
$90 (AUD)* – Within Australia per course/per student.
$150 (USD) – Outside Australia per course/per student.

8. Do I need to buy text books?
No. We email the study notes, and assignments for each course. You do not need to buy any other study materials; you can use your local university, or church library to prepare the research required. A Christian Orthodox Reference Library on CDs which includes about 200 Christian Orthodox books (in English) with powerful search engine is available from the College, and the cost including postage is $30 (USD).

9. Can I choose when to sit my exam?

The exams are held in June/July and December/January each year. You may be postponed one week or one term or even one year for acceptable reasons. The student must confirm the exact day of the exam three weeks in advance. If you do not sit your exam, the College will assume that have withdrawn from your studies.

10. How long does it take to complete the 'Diploma of Theology'?
For a 'Diploma of Theology' you have to study at least 13 courses (60 units) over 2-3 years. This will naturally depend of your time and ability. View course list.

11. May I apply for a scholarship?

The College does not offer any scholarships for students outside Australia.

12. Can I get a discount?
No. Only a Coptic Orthodox priest wishing to study may get 50% discount.

13. Can you arrange a Visa for me?
No. The College has a policy of not being involved in visa matters.

* No GST is applicable.
